Rajiv Sharma

Rajeev is the Managing Partner for APAC and prior to this has served as the CTO of Grid Dynamics, a NASDAQ listed company with HQ in the Silicon Valley. He has more than 30 years of leadership and management experience with a strong engineering background in Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Architecture, Product Design & Development, Solutions Architecture, Quantitative Analysis, Algorithms and Mathematical Modeling. Prior to joining Grid Dynamics, Rajeev served as the Senior Vice President of Cognitive Digital Engineering at Pactera Edge (now Centific) and as the Chief Solutions Officer at Ness Digital Engineering. He has significant experience in creating a scalable architectures and delivery frameworks that successfully integrate User Experience design, AI/ML, Cloud and Big Data across multiple industries. In the early days of Deep Learning from 2018-2020 he founded and led nova IQ; a fully funded specialized Deep Learning start-up as its CEO wherein he was instrumental in building enterprise-scale AI platform engineering implementation playbook for the financial and logistics industries.
As a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army, he has served in combat roles and as a senior rocket scientist and Deputy Project Director of Agni III missile program of Defense R&D Organization in India. He was awarded the Scientist of the Year award for his work on Design of Agni-III Solid Rocket Propulsion systems and was also recommended twice for Distinguished Service (VSM) at the National Level. Rajeev has authored the first User Handbook for the Agni-II missile system and was the course director for training the designated Military units for operationalizing the long range weapon system. He was also awarded the Army Commander’s Commendation Card for controlling the riots in Bidar in Dec 1992.
Rajeev has a Graduate degree in Management & Systems Design from MIT Sloan School of Management & the School of Engineering Systems and as part of the program has also studied Public Policy and General Management at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Harvard Business School. He also has a master’s degree in Space Engineering & Rocketry from BIT Mesra, Ranchi and an Undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
He has recently been recognized by the CEO Insights Magazine as one of the Top-10 Indian CTOs in Global companies and is a sought after CXO leader on Wall Street, Digital Technology circles and the Private Equity Eco-systems in North America. He has been featured in Wall Street Journal and other prestigious magazines for his thought leadership on building enterprise scale cloud native intelligent digital platforms across industries.
He enjoys writing poems and is a published author; his book on Leadership and Personal Mastery is titled ‘Intuitively Rational.”
Dr. V. “Bala” Balasubramanian

Dr. V. “Bala” Balasubramanian is currently a Strategic Advisor and Mentor for startups and emerging products and services companies.
Till recently, Bala was Senior Vice President and Global Head of Industry Solutions for Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) at Orion Innovation. Orion’s HLS division was created based on the acquisition of his former company. Bala’s leadership resulted in Orion being featured in Gartner and Everest Peak Matrix Benchmark Reports in 2022 and also ISG reports on HLS Service Providers.
Prior to Orion, Bala was the Co-Founder and CEO of Cabeus for nine years, a niche Life Sciences services firm where he was responsible for strategy, leadership and vision for both service offerings and a cloud platform called ReALM® to transform the regulatory value chain for Life Sciences.
At Cabeus, Bala was responsible for creating and defining services around Regulatory Information Management, Clinical Trial Acceleration, Quality Management Systems, Regulatory Intelligence, AI/NLG/NLP, Data Quality and Governance, Change Management, etc.
Bala has been chosen as one of NJ’s INNOVATE100 Community Leaders for 2025.
Bala was awarded DIA’s “Service Excellence Award” in 2023 for being a thought leader and contributor to the larger community. Bala is the workstream lead for developing the RIM Reference Model for the DIA, which is increasingly becoming adopted. He is currently the Track Lead for Data and Technology for the Global Annual DIA Conference.
Bala was the recipient of the Albert Einstein Award for Innovation as part of NJ Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards in 2016 and has received commendation from the State of New Jersey.
Bala has more than 35 years of experience in developing and delivering innovative information management solutions for companies such as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Aventis, Roche, Merrill Lynch, AT&T, Bell Atlantic and IBM.
Bala is an accomplished author, presenter and speaker on various emerging topics shaping the Life Sciences industry. Bala also serves as a Member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Master’s in Business and Science program at Rutgers University.

Larry Richards

Larry Richards has designed and implemented innovative business models for public and private organizations for more than forty years. See, for example, his work with Aetna; the NEO stock exchange in Toronto (now Cboe Canada); New York Life Insurance Company; the Toronto Financial Services Alliance; The Canadian Technology Accelerator in Philadelphia, and individual companies in healthcare, financial services, and other information-intensive industries.
Mr. Richards has spent his career in board-level and C-suite management consulting and executive management assignments. He has helped companies of all sizes, in multiple industries, from startups to Fortune 100 organizations, analyze market conditions; develop strategy; design, develop, and implement new technologies; and produce optimal strategic and financial performance. He is the author of an asset optimization (company optimization) methodology used extensively in his consulting and management assignments.
He has worked on and supported almost two dozen mergers and acquisitions. He has managed multi-year business transformation and digitization projects where he became a full-time, temporary member of his client’s executive team. He is the author of several in-house and client publications and has been an active speaker at client-sponsored and public sector events and conferences.
Mr. Richards spent much of my career in management consulting at Big 4 firms. He was a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, a partner at KPMG, and a partner (vice president) at Gemini Consulting (now part of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young). In addition, he was offered partnerships at Deloitte and Coopers & Lybrand and a Directorship at Price Waterhouse (which he declined in favor of a strategic partnership).
From 2011-20 Mr. Richards worked with US, Canadian, and international economic development agencies; their lead generation programs; and their CPA firms, law firms, and investment banks to improve (optimize) the financial and strategic success of companies expanding to or from markets in the United States.
Mr. Richards understands the relationship between diverse professional services, from market analysis through technology development and creation of sustained performance improvement procedures. From his work in economic development he also understands the needs of expanding companies, what they expect (demand) from service providers, and the changing nature of the management consulting industry. This knowledge is reflected in his current work with professional service firms, private sector companies, and economic development agencies.
